Foreign Body in the Rectum

History.?At about 7 p.m. on 9th June on his way to a 'hat' (market) he was struck on the head from behind and he fell to the ground. Then he was seized by his assailants and beaten, and a bamboo stick was introduced into his rectum. He was left on the wayside whence he managed somehow or other to reach the house of a friend of his. Futile attempts were made to remove the foreign body. When all possible means failed he was brought to the dispensary in a bullock cart; this was 36 hours from the time of incidence. Condition on admission.?The patient was a thinlybuilt man.
